Lauren Going, LCSW-C, RYT
Founder | Integrative Psychotherapy | KAP | Psychedelic Integration
Lauren is a licensed psychotherapist, yoga and meditation instructor, and pioneer in the field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. With over 17 years of experience specializing in trauma, Lauren blends deep clinical expertise with integrative approaches that honor the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
She was the co-founder of Inner Path Wellness, Maryland’s first psychedelic therapy center and one of the first in the U.S before separating to open Expand your self Wellness in June 2025. Lauren has served as an integration therapist for major psychedelic research studies at Johns Hopkins, Sheppard Pratt, and Sunstone, and participated as a research clinician in the MAPS Phase 3 MDMA trials.
Lauren is the creator of the PATH Approach which will soon be featured in her book, Expand your Self: 6 Steps to a Psychedelic Life. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic therapies, breathwork, TRE, and yoga nidra. She also offers psychedelic integration support and specializes in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship dynamics (including ethical non-monogamy), and spiritual emergence. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, and provides therapy in-office, in nature, and virtually.
Her unique path combines clinical depth with a lifelong passion for expanded states of consciousness. A dedicated Buddhist practitioner, Lauren has lived and studied in monasteries in India and Nepal. Her personal healing journey has included meditation, breathwork, and work with sacred plant medicines such as ayahuasca and huachuma—experiences that inform her deep belief that expanded states are part of a natural spectrum of human awareness.
In addition to her clinical work, Lauren is a sought-after speaker, trainer, and facilitator. Whether leading retreats, offering consultation, or working one-on-one, Lauren helps people reconnect with their embodied intuitive intelligence and live from a more open, authentic, and empowered place.

How do you continue growing personally and professionally?
I believe one cannot guide someone into territory they have never entered; therefore I take my own self work seriously and believe life continues to present me with the perfect challenges I need to grow. I regularly do my own therapeutic work, spend time in nature, meditate, and introspect. I am a lifelong learner, constantly keeping my finger on the pulse of the therapeutic modalities that decrease suffering and bring those insights back to my clients. I am dedicated to allowing life to grow me (even if I am sometimes kicking and screaming in the process!)
If you weren’t a therapist, what would you be doing?
I would be a stage actor. I grew up in the theatre and only left because I also discovered my love of both psychology and sociology. I dream of returning to the stage when my life ‘slows down’, but not sure when that will happen!
I also love being a barista and making yummy smoothies so owning and operating a smoothie truck is where my mind wanders on particularly challenging days working in mental health.
Any pets?
Ruby, my sheepadoodle is love embodied. She teaches me daily how to not hold love back and that play is the essence of a good life
