Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-Assisted Psycho-therapy

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) offers a structured and supportive way to access deeper layers of healing when traditional approaches have not moved the needle. Guided by the clinical expertise and approach developed by founder Lauren Going, this work is available to clients across Maryland and Washington, DC who are seeking relief from trauma, treatment-resistant depression, and long-standing symptoms.

KAP at Expand Your Self Wellness is grounded in safety, preparation, and integration. Rather than focusing on the medicine alone, we support the full therapeutic process so insights gained during expanded states of awareness can be integrated into what unfolds beyond the session and into daily experience.

Individual KAP Support

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is a structured and carefully guided therapeutic process that includes preparation, dosing, and integration. Each client works closely with a dedicated KAP therapist and medical provider to ensure the experience is safe, intentional, and well supported from start to finish.

Sessions may be relational and interactive or inwardly immersive, depending on your needs and goals. Therapeutic approaches such as Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and somatic therapy are woven into the process to support emotional regulation, insight, and meaningful change. This offering is well-suited for individuals navigating trauma, treatment-resistant depression, or long-standing patterns that have not shifted through traditional therapy alone.

Rather than centering the medicine alone, this work emphasizes preparation, pacing, and integration, supporting clients in making sense of their experiences and carrying insights forward in a way that feels steady and sustainable.

Healing in Community

KAP Group Sessions

KAP Group Sessions offer an eight-week therapeutic experience that combines ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with the healing power of community. Participants engage in dosing sessions and integration work alongside others who share similar challenges, creating a supportive and intentional group container.

Group settings allow for shared reflection, reduced isolation, and deeper resonance while maintaining strong clinical structure and safety. This format also allows us to offer KAP at a lower cost than individual sessions while still providing meaningful support and guidance throughout the process.

KAP Group Sessions are designed for individuals navigating trauma and treatment-resistant depression who are interested in healing alongside others in a thoughtfully facilitated environment.

Complete pricing details and group structure are shared during the screening and enrollment process.

An Immersive Healing Experience

KAP Retreats

KAP Retreats offer a deep and immersive weekend experience that integrates ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with group process, mindfulness and embodiment practices, and other supportive modalities. Retreats are designed to create space away from daily demands, allowing participants to engage fully in their healing process.

These retreats are offered for general populations as well as specialized groups, such as practitioner retreats or women’s retreats. The extended retreat format allows for time to
slow down, deepen connection, and support integration in a way that is difficult to access
in weekly sessions.

Participants often describe retreats as meaningful opportunities for insight, symptom relief, and renewed connection to themselves and others.

A Deep, Focused Approach

KAP EMDR Intensives

KAP EMDR Intensives combine two evidence-based approaches for trauma into a highly focused therapeutic experience. This offering includes preparation sessions, medical intake, and a multi-day schedule that includes ketamine-assisted dosing sessions with EMDR therapy.

A typical intensive includes two virtual preparation sessions, followed by in-person dosing and EMDR sessions scheduled over several consecutive days. This structure allows for continuity, depth, and integration without the interruption
of weekly sessions.

KAP EMDR Intensives are ideal for clients who feel stuck and are seeking accelerated healing tailored to their unique needs. Clients often experience reductions in anxiety and depression, improved emotional regulation, and a greater sense of resolution in their therapeutic process.
