Integrative
Therapy

Integrative therapy at Expand Your Self Wellness offers a grounded space to work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and long-standing symptoms that have not fully resolved. Guided by the clinical expertise and approach developed by founder Lauren Going, this service is available in person in Baltimore and virtually to clients across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Texas who are seeking therapy that feels integrative and embodied, not just intellectual. Whether you are looking for short-term support or ongoing care, this work supports greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and a more expansive relationship with yourself.

Our work is both clinical and soulful, helping you access the expanded
awareness and embodied wisdom that lead to real and sustained change in
your life and relationships. Through The PATH Approach™, a compassionate
and trauma-informed process, we support you in reconnecting with your body, restoring emotional balance, and remembering your innate capacity for healing and wholeness.

Our Way of Working

An Integrative, Embodied Approach

Our work is rooted in The PATH Approach™, a trauma-informed and embodied process that supports deep and sustainable transformation. This approach recognizes that healing does not happen in isolation, but through the integration
of body, mind, emotions, awareness, and relationship.

Integrative therapy draws from a range of evidence-based and experiential modalities that are thoughtfully woven together and adapted over time as your needs evolve. These may include Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, somatic therapies, mindfulness, breathwork, Gestalt therapy, creative and expressive practices, Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE), and expanded awareness approaches.

Rather than applying a fixed method, this work is responsive and relational. The focus is
on helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface, strengthen your internal resources, and develop greater capacity for regulation, self-awareness, and choice. The goal is not to rush healing, but to support meaningful progress through presence, insight, and integration.

One-on-One Support

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy may be short term or ongoing, depending on your needs and where you are in your process. Sessions offer space to slow down, explore patterns with clarity, and build skills for navigating symptoms, stress, and emotional overwhelm. This work is collaborative and paced, allowing your process to unfold in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.

Many clients come in feeling stuck, living with trauma, or experiencing symptoms that have not fully resolved despite previous therapy. Over time, individual therapy can support lessened symptoms, increased distress tolerance, stronger coping strategies, and greater insight and awareness. Clients often describe feeling more regulated, more connected to their bodies, and better equipped to meet daily challenges with steadiness and self-compassion.

Her approach integrates trauma-informed care, embodied presence, and clinical expertise. Through The PATH Approach, she supports clients in releasing what is unhealed, reconnecting with their bodies, and integrating expanded experiences into everyday life.

Lauren is supported by a skilled and compassionate team of clinicians who share a commitment to safety, integrity, and client-centered healing. Together, they create a therapeutic environment rooted in trust, connection, and the belief that every person has the capacity to return to wholeness.

Healing in Community

Therapeutic Groups

Therapeutic groups offer a powerful opportunity to heal alongside others in a supportive and intentional setting. Groups are designed to foster connection, deepen self-awareness, and reduce isolation while working within a trauma-informed and embodied framework.

Each group is time limited and centered around a shared focus, allowing participants to build trust and engage meaningfully in the process. Group work often complements individual therapy by offering perspective, resonance, and the healing experience of being witnessed and supported in community.

Current Groups

Women’s Midlife Awakening Group

April 9 - May 14
For many women, the years of building careers, raising families, and living by society’s expectations can lead to a gradual disconnection from themselves. This group offers space
to reconnect, reflect, and explore what is emerging in this season of life.

A Focused Healing Deep Dive

EMDR Intensives

EMDR Intensives provide an immersive and concentrated approach to trauma healing. Rather than meeting weekly over long periods of time, intensives allow you to engage in extended sessions lasting several hours or full days, often scheduled over consecutive days.

This format can be especially supportive for those seeking deeper progress in a shorter timeframe or for clients who find it difficult to maintain momentum with traditional therapy schedules. EMDR Intensives can be used as a standalone offering or in combination with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, depending on your needs and goals.

Clients often choose this option to reduce interruptions in the therapeutic process and to create continuity that supports deeper integration and healing.

Whole-Person Psychiatric Care

Integrative Psychiatry
& Medicine Management

Integrative Psychiatry offers a comprehensive and collaborative approach to psychiatric care that looks beyond symptoms alone.
This process combines traditional psychiatric evaluation with attention to biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors that influence mental wellness.

Clients work closely with their provider to clarify goals and develop a plan that may include psychotherapy, nutrition, medication, nutraceuticals, and/or herbal supplements. Follow-up sessions focus on monitoring progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and supporting overall well-being.

This approach recognizes how factors such as chronic pain, hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, and sleep challenges can significantly affect mood, cognition, and emotional health. This service is offered in person for clients ages 16 and up.
