Elias is a queer, cisgender male from Baltimore (Piscataway land) with mixed Syrian/Lebanese and European ancestry. As a nurse practitioner double board certified in primary care and palliative care/hospice, Elias walks with people during transitions, blending his training in Buddhism, a PhD in East West Psychology, and psychedelic therapies to ease suffering.
He is faculty at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) where he teaches courses on epigenetics and ancestral healing and is a Robert Wood Johnson funded researcher in global health equity. His research utilizes Community Participatory Action and Indigenous Research Methods to improve models of palliative care & communal grief practices in the Americas and East Africa. He was named a 2025 Emerging Leader in Palliative Care by the National Hospice & Palliative Care Nurses Foundation.
